Encouraging creativity and imagination in our students

There are optional activities for students who have additional interest and would like to explore visual arts even further through the Clearwater Academy electives system.

As a part of the Goals Oriented Education™ philosophy, our visual arts program is embraced by our curriculum from preschool through 12th Grade.

A vital part of engaging a student and promoting active learning is addressing the interests of the entire student. Imagination and creative thinking are critical skills in today’s world. In addition to students learning multiple styles and disciplines in visual arts, these lessons are linked back to important academic subjects such as math and history.

Going beyond the classroom students have the opportunity to highlight their talents at a variety of events throughout the year. Many students, with encouragement and help from school staff, take it one step further and have been featured in local newspapers as well as professional art shows.

In middle and high school, there are optional activities for students who have additional interest and would like to explore visual arts even further though the Clearwater Academy electives system. Photography, Screen Printing and Fine Arts have been offered as extracurricular activities.

Throughout the years, Clearwater Academy has had a variety of working visual arts professionals teaching at the school. Beyond academics, these professionals know first-hand what it takes to build a successful career in the visual arts and share that with our students, opening up even more opportunities to our students.
